The news initially sparked joy and excitement among fans worldwide, as this marks the group’s next step following their successful debut year and recent world tour.
However, the excitement quickly turned into controversy after YG revealed that Rami will not be participating in this album.

Rami has been on a health hiatus for several months and has not joined any group activities during this time. While many fans expressed understanding, others voiced frustration with how YG handled the announcement.

Some fans criticized the company for only revealing Rami’s absence at the same time as the comeback news, arguing that YG should have been more transparent earlier.
They stressed that while they understand Rami’s need for rest and recovery, the lack of consistent updates about her condition left them disappointed. As a result, a portion of fans announced plans to boycott the new album, demanding YG listen to their concerns.
"why are you boycotting" because if this comeback generates good revenue and sales, YG will have a big reason to remove her from the group if she doesn't recover fast enough. I understand the other girls worked hard, but I won't let anything sabotage Rami's return.

Maybe it’s no coincidence that, since last May, the girls have been virtually censored from WEVERSE, and YG has not made an official announcement. The BM vlogs from Japan also contained almost no footage of Rami.

On the other hand, many fans strongly opposed the idea of a boycott, calling it harmful to both BABYMONSTER and Rami herself.
They argued that boycotting would only sabotage the group’s hard work and damage their progress, especially after gaining international recognition on tour.
Boycotting this mini album is plain STUPID. Yah, let’s welcome back Rami into a shattered fandom, into a group that didn’t met the expectations because y’all too blinded by your hate to YG to see the bigger picture.

BM won’t be YG’s rookies for too long now. Remember this.
I just read something utterly ridiculous..

Babymonster just wrapped up a world tour and gained a lot of new fans worldwide. It’s only natural their sales would surpass the previous album, there’s no way that would sabotage Rami’s comeback. She will be back when she recovers. But…
“Postpone the mini album without Rami"

Thousands of people work around BabyMonster
They wake up every morning to feed their families
Not to mention the unfairness to the other members
I’m tired of explaining real life to selfish fans
If you’re not happy, stop following the group
Others emphasized that supporting the comeback would not sabotage Rami’s return, reminding fans that she will rejoin the group once she fully recovers. Some even expressed frustration with the boycott calls.
While the fandom remains divided, one thing is clear: BABYMONSTER continues to rise as one of K-pop’s fastest-growing rookie groups. With WE GO UP set to drop on October 10th, all eyes are now on how the comeback will perform amid the ongoing debate.
