AllDay Project’s Woochan Accused of Being Homophobic in Viral Live Stream Sparks Controversy

AllDay Project‘s  Woochan is currently under fire following a clip from his recent live stream that went viral on social media.

The clip, shared on Twitter, has garnered over 17 million views and sparked a heated debate among netizens. The viral post captioned the video with:

Oh, he shut down the gay and bi allegations QUICK.”

In the live stream, Woochan read a comment from a male fan who asked, “Hyung, let’s date.”

Woochan replied, You are my hyung. How do you think we could date? I’m not like that.

The clip sparked mixed reactions online, with some netizens criticizing Woochan and labeling his response as homophobic.

Many commentators point out that South Korea is already considered socially conservative regarding LGBTQ+ issues, making the reaction to Woochan’s comment unsurprising. Some argue that he could have simply said “no” or ignored the comment entirely, avoiding controversy.

On the other hand, several fans and supporters defended Woochan, stating that his response merely clarified that he is not interested in dating men and did not contain any offensive language.

Many have questioned why the backlash has been so intense, arguing that social media users are overreacting to what was, in essence, a simple statement of personal preference.

As of now, Woochan has not issued a formal statement regarding the controversy. Fans and critics alike continue to debate whether the backlash is justified or if it reflects the heightened scrutiny idols face in the digital age.
