ZEROBASEONE member Kim Gyuvin is facing criticism from fans after being accused of body shaming his groupmate Zhang Hao in a recently uploaded behind-the-scenes video.

The clip, released on the group’s official YouTube channel, shows the members during a photoshoot for their upcoming concert tour announcement.

In one part of the video, Zhang Hao can be seen wearing a cropped jacket that slightly reveals his stomach due to the outfit’s design. Gyuvin then walks over to him, touches his tummy playfully, and jokingly comments that “different food stores” are located there even naming a few foods as he points to different spots.
Zhang Hao responds that the outfit is for the concert and that he has been preparing in advance for it, seemingly brushing it off.
🎻"i'm actually hurt. gv bodyshamed me just now"
— serina (@haolindo) October 10, 2025
the fact that he knows he's being bodyshamed on camera and just brushing if off idc if it's a joke i don't wanna see or hear these weight jokes coming from idols towards others who are obviously already very skinny pic.twitter.com/oWKwj8wnTP
However, after Gyuvin walks away, Zhang Hao appears visibly uncomfortable. When the cameraman asks if something is wrong, Zhang Hao mentions that he was body-shamed and seems upset about it.

After the video was shared online, a specific clip of the interaction quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), leading to widespread criticism toward Gyuvin. Many fans expressed disappointment, saying that such remarks are inappropriate, especially in 2025.
can we just stop making a comment about other people’s body man. i’m so tired of this shit. https://t.co/iqo16VEVYZ pic.twitter.com/xFoQextQSf

"It isn't that deep" as if a great ammount of the industry doesn't have eds, i might be the woke friend but i find it lame when you make jokes abt other people bodies https://t.co/2tlD3EP57F pic.twitter.com/6I0cNaRdXM

even if yes this is what the industry is placing on them, it still has to stop. they're grown enough to know what is right and wrong. he needs to be educated and fans need to accept that. zh is already into unhealthy diet habits, laughing it off doesn't mean he's not affected. https://t.co/9NKR7WmZaG

Some fans also noticed that Zhang Hao later changed his outfit from the cropped jacket seen in the behind-the-scenes video to a longer jacket during the actual concert, interpreting it as a sign that he might have felt self-conscious.
"Oh but hao is not actually offended" but he literally changed his jacket from cropped to long for the concert bcs someone cant shut tf up https://t.co/rPjCSAuQKh pic.twitter.com/RJ6ssbmkwI

to people saying he didn't get offended.. well he actually changed or modified the coat, that was supposed to be the coat he'll be wearing on tour but we've seen him wearing the long one instead, so yes it's that deep. you don't just point out your friend's insecurity like that🙄 https://t.co/lxQU2xdEY1

However, opinions are divided. Some fans defended Gyuvin, saying the interaction was just friendly teasing between close members.
Let’s not go to crazy as u can tell he said he was hurt in a joking matter. You guys don’t understand their humor just let it go https://t.co/fBYvH61X8G

oh so yall took this as an opportunity to shit on gv and call him a dozen + bodyshame HIM for being skinny rather than educating him on how this isnt okay to say? literally anyone with plus chat should be letting him know instead of turning it to bully gyu. https://t.co/QQ54z5Zlta

Others, however, emphasized that joking about someone’s body even as a friend can still be harmful.
i love gyuvinie, but i think its getting out of hand rn like no matter how close you are, jokes about appearances always can hurt and pls dont treat it as something to disregard or that we're being too woke wtvr like gyuvins 21 hes not a kid he needs to understand🙏 https://t.co/ZW8xzspPWO

📢 no matter how close we are to our friends, we have no right to comment on their bodies. some may see it as a joke, but it’s not appropriate and could trigger someone’s insecurities. as much as i love gv, this behavior isn’t right. pls educate him in the kindest way possible 📢 https://t.co/EwI7eb2Mxy

This isn’t the first time Gyuvin has been criticized for similar comments, with some fans recalling past instances where he made remarks about other members’ bodies.
at what point will you guys realize that he just doesn't fucking care? He's a grown man, chronically online, and can speak English, I'm sure he saw yall criticizing and trying to "educate" him but he just dgaf and chose to be an ignorant asshole abt it https://t.co/g54ivJoH5b
— kira (@aeptth) October 10, 2025
this is getting old. this is like the third time that hes done this, does he not know this actually triggers ppl or does he just live under a rock? https://t.co/vz3FKTyQMg

While some fans continue to defend Gyuvin, the incident has reignited conversations about body image, sensitivity, and the pressure idols face within the K-pop industry both from fans and their peers.
