K-Pop Groups Celebrating Their 10th Anniversary in 2024

The year 2024 marks a significant milestone for several iconic K-pop groups who are celebrating their 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, these groups have not only made a substantial impact on the Korean music industry but have also garnered a massive global following. Let’s take a look at some of the K-pop groups that have reached this remarkable milestone.

     1.   GOT7  

Debuting on January 16, 2014, under JYP Entertainment, GOT7 quickly rose to fame with their energetic performances and charming personalities. Known for their versatility in music and exceptional dance skills, GOT7’s debut single “Girls Girls Girls” paved the way for a successful career. Despite parting ways with JYP Entertainment in 2021, the group continues to thrive independently, releasing music and engaging with their fans, Ahgase, through various solo and group projects.

     2.   Red Velvet  

Red Velvet, under SM Entertainment, debuted on August 1, 2014, with the single “Happiness.” The group’s unique concept, which blends the “red” (bright and bold) and “velvet” (sophisticated and mature) sides, has allowed them to explore a wide range of musical styles. With hits like “Red Flavor,” “Bad Boy,” and “Psycho,” Red Velvet has established itself as one of the leading girl groups in K-pop, continuously evolving and pushing artistic boundaries.

     3.   MAMAMOO  

MAMAMOO made their official debut on June 18, 2014, with the song “Mr. Ambiguous.” Known for their powerful vocals and stage presence, the group quickly gained recognition for their talent and charisma. MAMAMOO’s music often incorporates retro, jazz, and R&B influences, setting them apart in the K-pop scene.      4.   WINNER  

Formed through the reality survival program “WIN: Who is Next,” WINNER debut under YG Entertainment on August 17, 2014, with their album “2014 S/S.” The album’s lead single, “Empty,” was a commercial success, and the group quickly gained a loyal fanbase. Known for their distinctive sound and emotional depth, WINNER has produced several memorable tracks, including “Really Really,” “Millions,” and “Hold.” The members have also pursued solo projects, further showcasing their diverse talents.

     5.   LABOUM  

Debuting on August 28, 2014, under NH Media and Nega Network, LABOUM captured attention with their fresh and bubbly concept. Over the years, they have released a series of catchy songs like “Shooting Love,” “Hwi Hwi,” and “Journey to Atlantis,” which gained renewed popularity in 2021.      6.   Lovelyz  

Lovelyz, under Woollim Entertainment, made their debut on November 12, 2014, with the album “Girls’ Invasion.” Known for their sweet and innocent concept, Lovelyz’s music often features melodic and emotional elements. With hits like “Ah-Choo,” “Destiny,” and “Twinkle,” the group has carved out a unique space in the K-pop industry. Although they disbanded in 2021, the members continue to pursue individual careers in music and acting.

     7.   UNIQ  

This multinational boy group, formed by Yuehua Entertainment, debuted on October 20, 2014. UNIQ’s blend of Chinese and Korean members allowed them to appeal to a broader audience. Their debut single, “Falling In Love,” showcased their impressive performance skills and musical versatility. Despite the challenges posed by political tensions between South Korea and China, the group has maintained a dedicated fanbase and continues to produce music and engage in solo activities.
