Lee Je hoon Calls ‘Signal 2’ Script ‘Crazy’ and ‘Exceptional

In a recent interview, South Korean actor Lee Je hoon shared his enthusiasm for the much-anticipated tvN drama, “Signal Season 2″ . His reaction to the script has only heightened fans’ expectations for the new season of this acclaimed series. 

“When I read the script, all I could say was, ‘Wow, that’s crazy,'” Lee Je-hoon revealed. “Even though ‘Signal 2’ wasn’t finished, the beginning alone made me think, ‘How can they write like this? It’s so crazy.’ It’s a work that will exceed expectations; writer Kim Eun-hee’s work is truly exceptional.”

“Signal,” originally released in 2016, is a South Korean television series written by Kim Eun-hee, directed by Kim Won-seok, and stars Lee Je-hoon, Kim Hye-soo, and Cho Jin-woong. The series is based on the premise of the 2000 film “Frequency” and draws inspiration from real-life criminal incidents in Korea, including the infamous Hwaseong serial murders. 

The first season of “Signal” aired on tvN from January 22 to March 12, 2016, capturing audiences every Friday and Saturday at 20:30 (KST). The show quickly gained a strong following due to its gripping storyline and stellar performances, becoming one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in cable television history with a peak audience viewership of 12.544%.

The announcement of the second season’s production in March 2024 has been met with great excitement and anticipation. Fans and critics alike have praised the show’s unique blend of suspense, drama, and emotional depth. The series’ narrative intricately weaves together past and present timelines, connected through a mysterious walkie-talkie that allows detectives from different eras to communicate and solve cold cases.
