NCT’s Taeil, also known as Moon Taeil, has departed from the group following allegations of sexual assault.
SM Entertainment, made the announcement on the 28th, confirming the serious nature of the accusations and their decision to remove Taeil from all group activities.
SM Entertainment issued an official statement, saying, “We recently confirmed that Taeil was accused of a criminal case related to sexual assault. During our investigation into the matter, we realized that the issue was very serious and decided that he could no longer continue team activities. After discussing with Taeil, we mutually agreed that he would leave the team.“
The statement also mentioned that Taeil is currently cooperating fully with the ongoing police investigation. SM Entertainment added, “We will provide additional statements depending on the progress of the investigation. We deeply apologize for the controversy caused by our artist.“
Taeil debuted as a member of NCT U in 2016 and quickly became known for his vocal talents, contributing significantly to both NCT and its subunit, NCT 127.
