Park Jiwon Steps Down as CEO of HYBE, Welcomes New Leadership

On July 24th, Park Ji-won, CEO of HYBE, announced he will step down from his position but will continue to work with the company. In his statement, he aimed to clear up any confusion caused by recent media reports about his future.

“Today, media reports about my future suddenly came out, and I don’t think it would be appropriate to make you wait another confusing time, so I would like to give our members a brief explanation first,” Park Ji-won said.

Reflecting on the past three years, Park Ji-won mentioned the company’s rapid growth through its multi-label strategy and global market expansion. However, he stressed the need for a new growth strategy for the next five years. “In order to more actively prepare for and respond to HYBE’s future, we have determined that new leadership is needed to lead new changes,” he explained.

Park Ji-won introduced Lee Jae-sang as the new CEO, who has been preparing for this role since the beginning of the year. “Jae-sang is the right person to inherit HYBE’s vision, mission, and core values, and effectively implement HYBE’s mid- to long-term growth strategy,” Park Ji-won said.

He expressed his support for the new leadership, stating, “I sincerely support HYBE’s new leadership and new changes, and as a member of HYBE, I will continue to contribute to the future of HYBE in areas where I can utilize my expertise and network.”

HYBE announced that Lee Jae-sang will be officially appointed as CEO after a resolution at the general shareholders’ meeting and the board of directors’ meeting.
