On July 28th, SM Entertainment announced that aespa’s Karina, will not be performing at the ‘2024 aespa Live Tour – Sync: Parallel Line – in Japan’ concert at Ase Arena Osaka due to health concerns. This decision came after Karina successfully completed the first Osaka concert the previous day but was advised by a doctor to refrain from performing after rehearsals for the main concert.
In their statement, SM Entertainment expressed, “Karina decided to not attend the main concert due to health reasons after receiving a doctor’s diagnosis following rehearsal.” They added, “We are deeply sorry for causing inconvenience to everyone who has supported aespa and Karina and looked forward to the concert. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.”
Despite Karina’s absence, the concert will continue as planned with the remaining three members of aespa: Winter, Giselle, and Ningning. The group and their management expressed gratitude for the fans’ understanding and support during this time.
aespa kicked off their world tour in Seoul on June 29th and have planned performances across 14 regions in Asia and Australia. After Osaka, their next stops include Fukuoka on July 30th and 31st, followed by concerts in Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, Jakarta, and Sydney next month. The tour will continue in Melbourne, Macau, and Bangkok in September.
