tvN and Tving YouTube Channels Hacked, Subscribers Urged to Beware

On July 20, 2024, Tving announced that their official YouTube channel had been hacked. In their statement, they assured users that they are actively working with YouTube to resolve the issue and restore the channel as quickly as possible. 

tvN Drama also confirmed a similar hacking incident on their YouTube channel. They advised subscribers to avoid clicking on any suspicious videos or links and urged everyone to exercise caution to prevent any potential damage.

The tvN Drama YouTube channel, boasting 7.11 million subscribers, and Tving’s YouTube channel, with 986,000 subscribers, were both compromised. The names of the channels were altered to represent a cryptocurrency company, and the logos and home pages were replaced with content related to this entity. The original content on these channels is no longer visible.

tvN issued the following full statement:

Hello, this is tvN.
On July 20, 2024 (Sat), the tvN DRAMA YouTube channel was hacked by an external hacker and its name was changed. We would like to inform you of this.

tvN is aware of the channel hacking and is taking steps to resolve the issue with YouTube. We will do our best to restore the channel as soon as possible.

Please be careful not to click on posts with suspicious videos or links, and we ask that you take special care to avoid any damage.

Thank you.”

As both tvN and Tving work to rectify the situation, subscribers are urged to stay vigilant and avoid engaging with any suspicious content that may appear on these channels.
