At midnight on the 22nd, YG Entertainment made a huge announcement on their official social media. They posted a photo of the Iconic girl group 2NE1 with the caption, “WELCOME BACK, #2NE1 #WELCOME_BACK #YG.”
Earlier in June, it was reported that YG’s Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk met with the members of 2NE1. They had a meeting at YG’s new building in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul, which lasted about two hours. This meeting was special because it was the first time the group had come together after officially ending their activities eight years ago, and it marked their 15th debut anniversary.
In a recent Video on YG’s YouTube channel, Yang Hyun-suk shared some exciting news. He said, “2NE1 was YG’s first successful girl group. The members wanted to have a concert to celebrate their 15th anniversary, and we talked about making that happen this year.”
Yang also mentioned that the group will start their concerts in Seoul in early October. They have also booked concerts in Osaka and Tokyo later in November and December.
Additional dates and locations are still being planned. Yang said, “This concert will be special because it will bring together fans who have loved 2NE1’s music for years. We’re excited to work hard to make these concerts great. Plus, they’ll be going on a world tour through next year.“
Fans are now looking forward to more details about 2NE1’s return and their upcoming concerts. The reunion and concert tour will be a big event, celebrating the group’s incredible music and history.
